The Gospel

Wow! It's been a while!  I hoope i can leave some more interesting blogs for anyone to read here!

 

Basically, God id super amazing!  I have a wife now, and she's amazing, and this life is great! keep checking for updates!

 

I read something quite good by cs lewis today, he said "I don't know how we can expect everyone to act "christian" when the majority of british people aren't"  This is an incredibly powerful quote.  Christians are not and have never meant to be the moral police of the world.  Don't give that self righteous garbage that "we need to take a stand"  In no way do i condone some actions, but you cannot make a sinner stop sinning no more than you can make an apple tree grow oranges.  Does that mean we encourage sin? by no means!  But the bible is very clear, that only Jesus can take away sins, and He did!  If the only sin that can send someone to hell is not being born again, then let's as christians quit the small time "changing peoples ways" and get people to know the only guy who can change the heart! JESUS.  Stay tuned.

Is Christianity all based on a lie?  Did Jesus get married and have children?  Has there been a secret organization keeping this all a secret?

 

Questions everbody's talking about With the Movie adaptation of dan browns "the da vinci code".  So is it true?  Should Christians be worried?  well obviously no, but with all the "evidence" how can we be sure?

 

Did i mention it's a work of fiction?

 

While i was reading the net news, i saw many headlines about protests.  For whatever reasons i just want to say that no matter how many groups protest outside of movie theatres you're not going to change the fact that 60 million books have been sold, add another 20 because some would lend it to friends, and there is an astonishing amount of people who have read it!  Plus the number of people that were to lazy to read the book and just waited for the movie, and the millions of dollars it's going to make won't stop a fault finding society from doing what they do best...find faults!  So please as belivers don't waste your time protesting or trying to boycott anything!  Is that going to get those people saved?  They will just think you're actually trying to hide something.  Take that time and educate yourself, go to chapters or your nearest christian bookstore and buy books, look on the net determine to know more about dan browns supposed facts than any person that reads the book!

 

For instance, those who have read the da vinci code (such as myself) know about the "priory of scion"  The secret society that was apparently founded in 1099, and was in charge of guarding the secret "grail" and how leonardo da vinci was grand master of that organization at one point.  Did i forget to mention that it is a hoax?

Brown relies on "holy blood, holy grail" for his info, and the authors of that book relied on documents given to them by a man named Pierre Plantard, an anti-semetic frenchman who spent time in jail for fraud in 1953.

Him and three other men in 1954 started a small social club called the Priory of Scion and the name was taken for a nearby mountain.  Their "cause" was for lost cost housing in france. The club was dissolved but plantard kept the name. throught the 60's and 70's he spent his time creating a series of documents "proving" the exsistance of a bloodline from mary magdaline throught the kings of france, down to the present day to include himself (big suprise)  He began using the name plantard de saint-clair saying that they were direct descendents from Jesus and mary.  In 1993there was a political scandal involvin a close friend of the president of france Francois mitterland, because in one plantards documented lists of the priory of scion he listed roger-patrice pelat as a grand master. (the presidents friend)  When Plantard was brought to trial, he testified under oath that he made up the whole priory scheme.  When he house was searched there were more documents some of which showed that he was the true king of france (suprise again)

 

But facts on either side are useless, cuz facts are that cigerretes shorten lifespans and kill yet people still smoke, and the mathematical probability of evolution is so high it's impossible, yet people still believe that

so facts solve nothing!  Just don't be intimidated by the book!  Jesus is so real and alive and He heals and saves today.  The Da vinci code is a book that just describes an institution, the catholic church, and with any human institution it is subject to humans.  But The bible isn't about buildings, or rules, or secrets.  The bible is about a loving God, and He wants us to know Him!  He gave us 66 books about Himself, there is no mystery about Him!  Human history is that of bad choices, and Jesus paid for all of them on the cross.  And now He is in heaven, and inside believers.  The Bible is about Jesus, and how His purpose was to show us who God is, and to die for us, and to rise to life again!  To have this relationship, all you have to do is just believe, and tell Him you believe in Him, that's it.

Luke 5:30 - And their scribes and the Pharasees (Religious people) complained against His (Jesus and His disciples), saying, "why do You (Jesus and His disciples) eat with tax collectors and and sinners?"

 

The context of this verse is that Matthew just got called by Jesus and he was soo excited that he invited all his sinner friends to come have a meal with him.  Some translations say that they were notorious sinners!

 

So what were the "sinners" that Jesus was hanging out with?  They were the most despised ny the Jews, Tax collectors were considered the crime lords and gangsters of the day, He was having dinner with prostitutes, lepers, diseased, drunks, homeless people, everyone society looks down on, Jesus was having dinner with.  And eating with people then was considered the highest honour you can show someone!!!

 

Let's disect this verse:  The Pharasees - These were the people that had the extra training, they knew the scriptures better than anyone, the were the high priests, the holy ones, the representatives etc.

 

Jesus - God in human form, He was fully God, and yet fully human, He had the likeness of sinful flesh, yet did not sin, saviour of the human race, without Him we cannot know God or cannot have a relationship, or understand why we are here, Jesus was GOD!!!

 

Now let's use logic:  Pharasees were the ones that were supposed to know God the best, and they complained that Jesus was eating with sinners....hmmmmm

 

Let's discuss this again:  The ones that were outwardly the ones who knew God, and what He was like, didn't know God when He came, and complained when HE sat and gave the highest honour to those who were considered societies worst!!!!!!

 

If Jesus came to earth today He wouldn't hang out with the pope, or catholic priests, or you charasmatic pentecostal pastor, or  the preacher that tells everyone to repent or they will go to hell, JESUS WOULD NOT HANG OUT WITH THEM!

 

Jesus would hangout with the mafia, the pimps, the prostitutes, in the bars, He would go everywhere that most "christians" say is unholy and only heathens hang out there.  WHY?  Because they are the ones that need HIM!  I'm not saying that Jesus wouldn't spend time with preachers, He would certainly teach them if they didn't think they were too holy to not learn a thing or too, but Jesus' ministry was with the people that the mighty religious leaders thought were to much of a bad person to go near.

 

So i submit this to believers:  do prostitutes, ganglords, drug dealers, and other sinners like you?  do they want to talk to you all the time?  what about religions?  Do muslims and buddists and others like to talk to you?  Look who Jesus hung out with!  I'm not saying that only they need Jesus, EVERYONE needs a void in their life filled, and only Jesus can do that!  I mean, i wasn't that bad compared to some people, but i still had a deep longing for something more!  I tried to fill it with alcohol, Women, freinds, but it was still empty.  Only Jesus could fill it, and that's who He came to save: the lost, and those who think they are already good enough, the one who think they are justified, that if they light this many candles, or go to confession this many times, or pray 10 times daily, need to know that our own righteousness is like filty rags to God, and that if we could be made right with God by doing these things, Christ died in vain.

 

To non-believers, atheists, and religious people alike:  The gospel doesn't tell you what you're doing wrong. you know there's something missing, you know that God seems distant, and you're sick and tired of people telling you that your a dirty rotten sinner and you need to change.  You know that! don't let religious people and preachers tell you what your problems are and that you need to change!  You can't change on your own anyway.  Jesus meets you were you're at, don't try to change you will fail.  I don't preach the problem, i preach the solution: Jesus in you!  Only He can change you, and it's so simple to have a relationship with Him.  Just believe that He is the son of God, and that He was raised to life, and you WILL have that realtionship with Him.  He will come and live in you.   This is the Gospel:  That God came and clothed Himself in human flesh, showed us what God is truly like, was beaten to near death for our sickness' and diseases, was crucified so that barrier between God and man, that seperation, could be removed, He died so that we wouldn't have to die in hell, and rose to life so that We could dwell with Him in Heaven, and now He can live inside of each and every human that believes that this is true!  The gospel isn't to get holy than come to Jesus, the Gospel is to come to Jesus as you are, and He will MAKE you holy! And He will confirm His gospel, just watch.
